Visible Portraits Of An Invisible Disorder

Visible Portraits Of An Invisible Disorder, a photography exhibit created by local photographer, Brian Mengini, will be unveiled October 1through www.portraitsofadisorder.com. This virtual exhibit features professional portraits of children affected by Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), a neurological disorder that affects 1 in 20 children including Mr. Mengini’s son, Dominic. The goal of the project is to raise awareness for SPD; to put a face to a seemingly invisible disorder. A live print exhibit of select images will be unveiled October 15 at the photographer’s studio, 209 Bridge St Phoenixville. For more information on the project, please visit www.portraitsofadisorder.com. For more information on SPD, please visit www.spdfoundation.net.

So here is what I need from you.  I need the best quality picture of your sensory kiddo that you have!  We want one, if you have it, that best captures their spirit and personality!!  WE WANT ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE AN ACTUAL SPD DIAGNOSIS AS WE ARE TRYING TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE ACTUAL DISORDER.  In addition, we need you to include your childs first name, age, a sample of their sensory issue AND their favorite hobby, passion or what they may excel at. We want to show and share just how special they are, not just the obstacles!  Lastly, tell us where you are from!!

This is your chance to be part of an amazing project aimed to raise awareness of this invisible disorder! Let’s put a face to SPD!!!  Please send your picture and requested info to portraits@portraitsofadisorder.com.  PLEASE STAY TUNED TO SEE IF I WILL BE NEAR YOU SO YOU CAN SCHEDULE YOUR OWN PERSONAL PHOTO SHOOT!!!
